Checking E-mail in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer comes with the ability to launch your favorite e-mail program from the browser window. While this doesn't use IE to perform your e-mail tasks, it does allow you quick access to your e-mail while using Internet Explorer.

To launch your e-mail program from Internet Explorer, simply click on the Envelope icon in the browser icon selection, as shown below.

 

Insight Broadband only supports the Outlook Express e-mail program. However, you may have noticed that when you clicked on the Envelope icon above, another program other than Outlook Express was started. To change the default e-mail program that launches inside of Internet Explorer, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Tools section in the menu bar, then Internet Options.

2. Click the Programs tab. In the E-mail drop down menu, click the arrow and select Outlook Express.

 

3. Click Apply, then OK.
